The beautiful, majestic Irondequoit Town Hall is now listed on the Town's historic registry - which protects that lovely building from ever being torn down, or from any future structural changes without going through the Preservation Committee first.

I-Post Election Goodies

Lots of letters and ads in today's I-Post. There were no letters supporting Joe Morelle, and the paid ads were a report card on Dan Maffei, and another about two incumbents and the mess in NY - both paid for by Irondequoit Citizens for Better Government inc., a non-profit organization registered with NY State: Board members are Mary Finucane, Vince Patane, Marie Moscato-Foxton, and Richard Barone.

If I was a Joe Morelle Mailer - that's the song I would be singing!

What are the mailers missing?

A "Not paid for at taxpayers expense" sentence, anywhere, on any of the multitudes of mailers that Joe has sent out. I don't see a "paid for by the MCDC" or "paid for by the state democratic committee" or "paid for by the seniors first committee" or "paid for by the friend of Joe Morelle comittee" - anywhere.

Did the taxpayers pay for these mailers?

The mailers don't say who is paying for them - I'm assuming that the taxpayers did.

Morelle - Can Dish It Out, But Can't Take It?

That seems to be Joe Morelle - City News has an article up where Joe is having a temper tantrum with the MC Fair Election Practices Committee. He sent out an e-mail about it.

"Effective immediately, I am advising all Democratic candidates to withdraw participation in the Monroe County Fair Election Practices Committee until the sponsors re-format the committee in a fair, bipartisan manner.

Like Corruption And High Taxes?

Vote the same people back in.

Obviously, NYS voters love the corruption and the dysfunction of NYS. You like the high taxes. You love that businesses move out of our state - and take our college graduates with them.

You must! You keep voting the same people back in! Do you honestly think they are going to finally "stand up" to the "leaders" after 10, 20 years in the Senate or Assembly? You really believe that? Honestly?

Having just read the appalling report from the NYS Inspector General - a 316 page report that calls the "handling" of the bidding process for choosing a video lottery terminal operator for Aqueduct Racetrack - corrupt and a "political free-for-all" - I am amazed at our apathy, and our ignorance.

Albany is FAILbany BECAUSE of those very same people you vote into office year after year after year.

This video was attached to an article in the D&C and they interview a few citizens on a makeshift soapbox about their opinions on "fixing" New York.

I like the young lady at the 1:32 mark of the video who says: "You kinda gotta flush the toilet and let 'em all go and start over fresh."
