Whatever

I have so much to write about - but I really don't feel like it. No matter what I write about....I either have some evil agenda, I am "anti" something, I'm handing out misinformation, or I kick puppies or something. I have pretty thick skin....but a gal can only take so much.....I have feelings, you know. ;)

Nahhhhh. Just kidding. I really don't have feelings, so if you want to lambaste me in the comments and call me names.....feel free to do that as well. I can handle it - believe me.

I have a few things on my mind - but I honestly have not had time to research it enough to write a blog about it, and provide the reader with enough information to see what I'm talking about.

So - I figure I can make this an open blog and let you guys have at it. Talk about whatever you want.....Titus Ave, Cell Towers, Corruption, Rochester's New Mayor, Gastrointestinal Difficulties, Blueberry Waffles.....I don't care.

I was watching some show on History Channel last night about coins. It was pretty interesting. They were showing where a majority of coins are used.....like at casinos in slot machines......and fountains or wells where people make wishes. There was one well that was some natural cavern (I forget where it was located because at that moment one of my dogs came running down the stairs with a balloon and string tangled around his leg (courtesy of my son, I'm sure) and he was pretty upset that the balloon was "chasing him".....and in the subsequent chase/catch/untangle/soothing words/petting action.....I missed where it was).....but anyways, people throw like $30,000 worth of coins in there every year, and they donate it to various charities. But, to get the coins out, they have to drain this cavern (which is like 6 ft. deep or so) and they do this by dropping a sump pump in there and pump all the water out. Then they send workers down there with sacks and wheelbarrows to collect the coins. They can't just send these coins right to the bank because they are all covered in slime, calcium deposits, and rust etc. after sitting in water for a year.....so they send them to a local small business that cleans the coins for them. I just thought that was kind of neat that a natural cavern filled with water would provide so much for a community. Not only tourists and revenue, but charity and a local business as well. Pretty neat.

Then they went on to show how coins were made, and they were showing the Presidential Dollar coins and one had Abraham Lincoln on it - how they make the template for the coins, and the true work of art the drawings are.

That made me think of all the quotes attributed to Lincoln that I've read over the years. I don't know if these are really quotes from Lincoln, but two favorites that I've thought were attributed to him are:

"Whatever you are, be a good one." - Words to live by!

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.” - True dat, Abe. True dat!

Huh. I guess I did write about something. Oh well, it's the "whatever" blog - so - whatever. I'd just like to ask everyone to please not call each other names (except for me because I said you could call me names), or make wild accusations without any proof. If you can't back up what you say, please make sure to qualify your accusations with "It's just my opinion" or "I've heard rumors" etc.

Thank you.

Anybody hear/see any good April Fool's Day pranks? I thought it was kinda lame. No good pranks.

I am extremely happy that the Bronx Zoo Cobra can still tweet after being captured. I guess she swallowed her Iphone, and regurgitated it after being caught. Hilarious. Is it strange that the only two tweets I seriously follow are Rachel Barnhart and the Bronx Zoo Cobra? Every day. I. Must. Read. Them.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Helllloooooo Jax,

Very cool regarding the coins in the cavern.$30,000 every year - WOW! That's a lot of wishes!

I didn't hear of any really good April Fool's Day pranks either. My husband loves to try to get all of us every year. I'm always prepared now.

So funny that the Bronx Cobra tweets. ;)

Regarding tweets, does it cost any money to tweet? Does it come up on your email or cell phone? Do you need to have Internet on your cell phone to be able to tweet? I'm tweet illiterate. Help.

Since this blog is about whatever check these babies out they are adorable - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrpvG3WuLOQ

There is no way to watch this video and not smile. :)

I have to laugh over the whole IDC web site again. It really just gets funnier and funnier.

They have a plan blah, blah, blah! Democrats are better than Republicans blah, blah, blah. I think Ray should get some new material.

The Town Board did what they had to do regarding Verizon. Irondequoit is being bullied and in my opinion, there was no other way than to hash it all out in court.

ps- Love blueberry waffles. :)

How cute are those babies? I bet they grow up to be like this basketball announcer.

It doesn't cost anything to tweet. Just go to twitter.com and sign up. You can search people/things to follow from their website, or when you are at a website you like, you can "follow" them from their site (if they have that available).

You can have tweets sent to your phone, you can tweet from your phone, or you can bookmark it on your computer and read tweets...whatever you want.

IDC and plans....lol. Back in January they said "Stay tuned as Democrats do have, and will unveil soon, a comprehensive sustainable plan of action that will provide financial stability and growth now and for years to come!!"

Glad I didn't hold my breath on that one!

I bet those babies will grow up and sound like that announcer. Hilarious! :) I love their little hand gestures too.

Ok, learned the whole tweet thing. Thank you I'm signed up. Only for Rachel for now.

Jax, the comprehensive sustainable plan is the Republicans are bad and the Democrats are good! The world according to Ray.
