Turbovac, (I think the company has something to do with parking lots), filed a mechanic's lien against Bersin Properties on January 11th, 2012. Congel owes them $38,343.00.

Do you think all of the local companies he's bilked out of thousands of dollars are confident he'll deliver on his promises? Think they're "staying positive" and "hope" that he pays them? Think they're "waiting by the phone" for him to call or send a payment?
Nope. Sad that they have to waste time, money, and energy on collecting what is owed to them from this guy - apparently you have to do more than "stay positive" when you want Bersin Properties to honor a contract. At least they're doing something about it and not sitting there waiting.

OMG here we are again. Same song over and over.
Usually agencies that are owed large sums of money go after the money. Most don't wait by the phone or for the stars to align.

One town board member who voted for the PILOT had first hand knowledge of contractors not being paid; said nothing and voted yes.
Expect the Board to secretly change the terms of the deal so the residents are screwed again.
The agreement should be voided and not amended.
previous administration officials and east iron School officials told the public that residents were protected this time. They had created a rock solid deal. They forgot to mention they lied.
Let's see if town board removes the clause that allows the tax dollars to pay the mortgage for the mall.
Some of these companies are local - I forget how many companies he didn't pay the last few years....I think Passero was one? The plowing company, and I think the landscaping people?
I bet this "re worked" P.I.L.O.T. will protect them. Betcha! :/

So if they "re work" the PILOT will we know? Is there any input about it? How much will it cost the town to "re work" it?

I think he should be 'kicked out' of the Empire Zone.
The State came up with a "new" incentive program (Excelsior Program) to replace the Empire Zone one - but the companies already in Empire Zones at the time of the creation of the Excelsior Program(like Medley) are still able to take advantage of it.
Congel shouldn't, because he has not created any jobs, and has not created economic development greater than the tax breaks he is receiving.
He hasn't done shit, and can't even pay the people who service his properties.
With all those contributions to local politicians, I doubt any would be willing to go to bat for the taxpayers though.

They were bought. At the August Town Board Chat Session at the Fire House Aldersley categorically denied the mortgage deal section of the PILOT. Officials will not even admit the truth of the terms of the pilot agreement they created and voted for.
I don't know if she was "bought"....quite honestly, I think she just states stupid, untrue things for free. "5 ft. around Pinegrove" for instance.
Anyone who reads the PILOT can clearly see that a portion of the PILOT money goes towards the mortgage.
Key words: "anyone who reads the PILOT" - apparently, she didn't.
Page 48 PILOT MORTGAGE - "County Of Monroe Industrial Development Agency"...blah blah blah...."in it's capacity as a grantor of this mortgage."
Remember, Aldersley said in an e-mail to Ginny on March 8th 2009, that the PILOT is an 85 page document that is easily readable at 10 pages a day.
The PILOT was released late on Thursday, March 5th, and voted on Monday, March 9th. Do the math.
Her e-mail was in response to Ginny's e-mail BEGGING the board to table the vote on the PILOT until the public had a chance to read the whole thing and understand the implications of the PILOT deal, and give educated feedback.
Problem is - they don't want you to be educated to give feedback. That's why the public hasn't seen anything from the developers of Legacy.
An ignorant public is a gullible public.

Conservation Board discusses blue boxes, bird houses, bottle caps and rain barrels; yet will not comment on a project that complies with no code, sits in an environmental protection district and is in opposition to the Conservation Boards own studies for Highest Preservation Priority of this land.
Anonymous, usually Conservation gives a list of comments regarding environmentally sensitive projects.
Do you happen to know if they did for the Legacy? Might be a good thing to foil to see what the Conservation board's concerns were...if any. Please let me know if you know if they have done this.
