Takin' Bets

On how long it will take Congel to pay his "special district taxes" this year.
I will guess.....ummmmm.....maybe next year? Or, until a reporter calls his lawyer?

1st installment is due today, February 10th, 2011, but he has until April 30th to pay it off with 4.5% interest applied.

Here is a screen shot of the combined county/town tax statement - bottom portion with the coupons only:

Very nice editorial.

"Misguided and misdirected economic development effort in our community"

EXACTLY- I'd only add RUSHED to that.

To bad other communities are learning from Irondequoit! :(

There never was a demonstrated "Need" for another mall within the marketplace. IDA's function based on favors granted as a result of campaign contributions.

The need was for contributions, which amount to over $100,000 and all came before deals were signed.

Attorneys should be ashamed of the work performed as they claimed the residents are protected this time.

The Effective Tax Dollars paid to COMIDA will be funneled back to Medley Owners pockets in the form of debt service on the Bonds.

In simple terms---the residents of Irondequoit and primarily East Irondequoit School District are paying for the entire construction of the Mall and getting zero ownership and very very little taxes. The same logic used by the school board has also led to only 29% passing regents math B. A disgraceful number beyond comprehension. School performance and Mall performance are on a par.
