Campaign Mailers

If "playing politics with our children is not acceptable"......why is it acceptable for MJD, Aldersley, and Perticone to do exactly that with this political mailer?

It seems that MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone want everyone else to be more positive and respectful of others - but exempt themselves from the "fair campaign" pledge that Perticone and Mary Joyce D'Aurizio signed recently with the League of Women Voters.
Here is the pledge they signed:
I believe this mailer violates the Fair Campaign Pledge that they signed.  It's not about issues related to Town Supervisor - it's a School District issue.
Ament is out to ATTACK KIDS?  Will he really do anything to grab headlines?  Did he LIE about "our children"?  Is he really PLAYING POLITICS WITH OUR CHILDREN?!?!  FEAR HIM IRONDEQUOIT!!!!!  FEAR HIIIMMMMMMM!
It's about people, not politics!  Obviously!

Wow, what a joke of a mailer.  Hope he contacts the League of Women Voters to advise them of this mailer.  How positively political and negative this mailer is.  I would expect this from the Dems......and now MJD is a part of that.  How simply sad and bad that is.

UPDATE 12:30 am 9/13/11:
Channel 10 had a report on the above mailer, and they interviewed Ament and D'Aurizio - they also reported that the League of Women Voters ruled on the mailer and found it did not rise to the level of a substantial violation - however, while the wording was not a personal attack on Ament's character, they used a poor choice of words.

Moore and Nottel have a simple card that states the facts of who the Republicans are and who the Democrats are.  Nothing mean, negative, or nasty.....very nice.

Here are some mailers from MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone - they even recycled the old "It's not magic - bunny in a magic hat" theme from 2009:Mailers MJD, Aldersley Perticone

 DEMOCRATS WHO CARRIED PETITIONS:

Somebody sent me an "unofficial" list of the Democrats who carried petitions for MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone. They were from notes that were in pencil when they looked at the petitions, so some of the names may be spelled wrong. Here is the list:

First Week Officially Over

I would imagine that "getting through" the first week is a tough one for the new Supervisor, but it seems to be going smoothly so far.

According to the twits (tweets?) at irondemocrats, "After 60 days transition, so far new administration at Town Hall has only appointed a new Bingo Inspector. 5:30 AM Jan 6th from web"

Really? That's it? Three whole days after they officially took office, they just appointed a Bingo Inspector?

I Wish I Could Slow Mo This.

I love this clip. It's delicious. I think it deserves a replay.

The subtle jangling of her bracelets as she motions with her hand while she states that "We don't own any more than just the building and 5 ft. of land around it...."

I get goosebumps just listening to it. Not because she was caught telling residents an outright lie......oh no.....that just makes me smile.

I get goosebumps when I'm frightened. I am frightened because I can't believe a word that comes out of that mouth ever again. I can't. I mean, I believed her, and the Supervisor, and the rest of the people who said that the Town didn't own the land around the Pinegrove building, until I saw the deed. I also believed the Supervisor when she said that cdbg couldn't be used for Pinegrove, until I read the cdbg site. I assumed they did their homework and knew what they were talking about.

I won't make that mistake again.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Let's Talk About Hypocrisy...........

This was recently added to the Town website.
Here is the link to the Town Code.

I guess they felt the need to put this on the website, because of this:

Apparently, rules of behavior only apply to "the public". The Town attorney can disrespect a member of the public, but that public better not clap!

I remember a meeting a little over a year ago where members of the public booed at a speaker during public input, and there was massive amounts of clapping from the ones that booed too.......but that was in favor of the Supervisor, so that was ok.

Link to letters archive at MPNnow.

Is Hammer/Sickle syndrome contagious? I sure hope not.

Mr. Buttarazzi Tells It Like It Is Once Again!

Mr. Buttarazzi was interviewed on Channel 13 at 6pm, and that sweet, smart man explains it perfectly. You can view the interview at Ch. 13's site here.

You might remember Mr. Buttarazzi from public input at the last Town Board meeting,
and how absolutely adorable he is. Ooooooooh I just love him!

Your 3 minutes are up! Ding!

Great public input from this resident!

Let's see.....this resident had something to say - not all of it was puppies and rainbows - then was interrupted and scolded by the Supervisor that her three minutes were up......yet...other people get to speak longer without being interrupted, sometimes for 9 minutes!
