Cover Your Badonkadonk
Dear Mr. Moore & Mr. Nottell -
Please publicly repudiate my previous blog....hell, repudiate them all if ya want.
Do this before Aldersley files a complaint against you for my negative, professional naysayer blog, and then you have to publicly state that you think I'm a buffoon....wait...can you call me a "crotchety old haus frau"? I like that better....anyways....please denounce this blog and you could say that I'm "rogue" and that I do exactly what I want to do...that would be nice.
Please, PLEASE do this so we don't have to suffer through another last ditch effort of Aldersley and Perticone to use the FEPC for playing politics.
I know you have NOTHING at all to do with this blog, but since you don't have anything to do with the ads that Barone put in the papers, or the C.F.B.G. and have to denounce the ads in public - I suppose you'd have to cover your derriere for my blog too.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Jax :)

Love/Hate Relationships
It seems that CERTAIN people of the Democrat persuasion, have a love/hate relationship going on within their own heads over the FEPC.
It has to do with playing politics, what they think is good for the town, and the Fair Election Practices Committee.
Playing politics - Aldersley and Perticone (and MJD) complain that there is too much partisanship and political bickering in town, and it's not good for the town. But then, Aldersley (who didn't even sign the fair election practices committee's pledge to adhere to such high standards) filed a complaint against Moore and Nottell.......for the report card ads that Barone puts in the I-Post every year.

Ads & Letters In I-Post
Here are some items that were in the Irondequoit Post pertaining to the upcoming elections. The letters section had a very good letter from Ginny Maier.
Here's the text of Ginny's excellent letter:
Were developer’s interests put before town’s I was a resident of Irondequoit when the latest Medley Center agreement was signed. Stephanie Aldersley and John Perticone were on the Town Board at that time. They signed off on a change to the town zoning law written just for this developer, which gave him the right to make changes to the project without any further public review, a privilege that no other property owner has. They agreed to a property tax break that Aldersley herself (at a Town Board meeting on March 2009) estimated as worth $40 million. When the 84-page text of the PILOT was released to the public, we were given less than three business days to review the agreement before the Town Board voted on it.
Stephanie Aldersley and John Perticone refused repeated requests from residents for more time to understand the size, the length and the details of the tax benefit provided before their vote.
John Perticone never responded to repeated emails from residents expressing concerns about the agreement. But at a Town Board meeting in February 2009, he made a point of thanking the developer, saying “it’s been a nice process.”
Stephanie Aldersley and John Perticone have remained on the Town Board while the developer of Medley has repeatedly ignored or missed deadlines that were built into the agreement to, supposedly, protect the town and its taxpayers. They have done nothing to require that the developer be held accountable to the agreement they signed.
Stephanie Aldersley and John Perticone have repeatedly failed to act in the best interest of the people they represent in the most consequential matter to come before the Town Board in their terms of office.
Do you think they should continue to represent you?

Tentative 2012 Budget
For your reading pleasure.....Town of Irondequoit link to budget.
I haven't had a chance to review it thoroughly yet, but there is a slight increase in the tax rate, up $.13 from last year. It was $6.51 per $1,000. assessed valuation last year. It is tentatively $6.64 per $1,000. assessed valuation for 2012. That could change - up or down - by the time it's all said and done.

Campaign Mailers
If "playing politics with our children is not acceptable"......why is it acceptable for MJD, Aldersley, and Perticone to do exactly that with this political mailer?
It seems that MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone want everyone else to be more positive and respectful of others - but exempt themselves from the "fair campaign" pledge that Perticone and Mary Joyce D'Aurizio signed recently with the League of Women Voters.
Here is the pledge they signed:
I believe this mailer violates the Fair Campaign Pledge that they signed. It's not about issues related to Town Supervisor - it's a School District issue.
Ament is out to ATTACK KIDS? Will he really do anything to grab headlines? Did he LIE about "our children"? Is he really PLAYING POLITICS WITH OUR CHILDREN?!?! FEAR HIM IRONDEQUOIT!!!!! FEAR HIIIMMMMMMM!
It's about people, not politics! Obviously!
Wow, what a joke of a mailer. Hope he contacts the League of Women Voters to advise them of this mailer. How positively political and negative this mailer is. I would expect this from the Dems......and now MJD is a part of that. How simply sad and bad that is.
UPDATE 12:30 am 9/13/11:
Channel 10 had a report on the above mailer, and they interviewed Ament and D'Aurizio - they also reported that the League of Women Voters ruled on the mailer and found it did not rise to the level of a substantial violation - however, while the wording was not a personal attack on Ament's character, they used a poor choice of words.
Moore and Nottel have a simple card that states the facts of who the Republicans are and who the Democrats are. Nothing mean, negative, or nasty.....very nice.
Here are some mailers from MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone - they even recycled the old "It's not magic - bunny in a magic hat" theme from 2009:Mailers MJD, Aldersley Perticone
DEMOCRATS WHO CARRIED PETITIONS:
Somebody sent me an "unofficial" list of the Democrats who carried petitions for MJD, Aldersley, & Perticone. They were from notes that were in pencil when they looked at the petitions, so some of the names may be spelled wrong. Here is the list:
John Polit
Seth Tebman (Allwood)
Dave Murphy (Kennedy)
James Rosse (Lakeshore, Eaton Rd)
Erin Burdick (Falstaff)
Vince Esprosels ( Bayview)
Adam Bello
F Nasso (Vayo, Eastview)

Sue Rodgers (Huntington Hills)
Mary Ellen Jones
Ed O'Brien Winona

Sea Breeze Water District Audit
From January 2007 - January 2010. I thought it would be good to put this audit from last year up. Especially since the meeting last night - and because I noticed someone searched "comptroller sea breeze water district". I didn't see the Special Town Board Meeting last night - but I heard that the S.B.W.D. can't make payroll, and things don't look too good.

Cross Endorsement Ad In I-Post
Happy Labor Day! Hope you're enjoying not laboring today, and if you are laboring, bully for you! You hard worker, you. That holiday pay is niiiiiice.
There was a 4 page ad in this week's I-Post. You might have missed it since it was an insert this time instead of an ad directly on the page of the paper.
I decided to scan the ad and put it on here in a pdf - it might be a little choppy because it was an odd size ad, and it didn't fit in my scanner.....but you'll be able to read it, and it might help you understand a little better.....the process of a cross endorsement, and how your ballot might look. Barone Ad in MPN
***Note: Christian Redder is listed as a candidate in the Democrat Primary for Town Board in this ad - but as far as I know, he is no longer interested in running for Town Board and has chosen not to run due to family reasons (.Link to I-Post story that quotes Redder as saying he is not running.)
In a nutshell, if you vote for MJD, Aldersley, and Perticone on Primary Day - you will only see those names appear on BOTH the Republican and Democrat lines in the November General Elections.
If Democrats vote for Ament in the Democrat Primary for Town Supervisor - he will win the primary and you will see Ament's name on the Democrat line, and MJD's name on the Republican line in the November General Elections. (She will have lost the Democrat primary and only appear on the Republican line.) It doesn't mean that Ament will be Supervisor - it just means his name will appear on the November ballot. You'll have a choice in November instead of MJD's name on both D&R lines.
If Republicans vote for Moore and Nottel in the Republican Primary for Town Board - they will win the primary and you will see Moore and Nottel's name on the Republican lines, and Aldersley and Perticone's names on the Democrat lines in the November General Elections. (Aldersley and Perticone would have lost the Republican primary and only appear on the Democrat line.) It doesn't mean that Moore and Nottel will be on the Town Board - it just means that their names will appear on the November ballot. You'll have a choice in November instead of Aldersley and Perticones names on both D&R lines.
So many people are confused about this cross endorsement and they don't understand the process. Some are confused on how Democrats can be on Republican primary ballots and Republicans on Democrat primary ballots - and some of them are just saying "Oh bother. This is too confusing. I'm not even going to go vote on September 13th."
Isn't that the attitude they are hoping for?
Making voter apathy even MORE apathetic? It can certainly work in their favor, that's for sure.
If you want choices this November - GO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY. They certainly aren't giving the voters any choices.
The voters have to vote to give themselves choices. How sad is that? Here are some articles about the primary, and candidate's previews in the I-Post.

More Politics At and IN Town Hall?
I mean, they actually went INSIDE Town Hall and protested Buerkle.
Why weren't these negative, political people stopped and censured!?!?
Why aren't letters written about them and unkind words spoken about them?
I commented on this one on the website because I found it highly hypocritical - one of the comments in the article.
They were protesting Buerkle because of her voting record and although she's not a registered member of the Tea Party - her vote against raising the debt ceiling aligns her with their politics.
....And the 90-something Democrats that voted right along with her against the debt ceiling must be aligned with Tea Party politics as well.
...And let's not forget in 2006 when EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT VOTED AGAINST RAISING THE DEBT CEILING because.....they must be aligned with Tea Party politics.
Obviously. They might have even invented it!
Why aren't they protesting out in front of their own Town Hall in Brighton?
It can't have anything to do with politics and wanting Republican Buerkle out and Democrat Maffei in. No. Nothing to do with politics at all.
Glad you folks at Town Hall are very choosey about what politics you allow and what politics you don't allow inside those walls. Great letter in the IPost too. I can't wait to see the letter next week from this person scolding those political protestors who went into Town Hall and protested Buerkle. I mean, given the political climate today, electing a new Congressperson every two years is just disruptive and counter productive. Buerkle spent one year to really understand the job and then she must spend the second year campaigning to keep that job and in the end is unable to accomplish what she campaigned to do. If you are like this letter writer, and you think it is refreshing to live in a community where members of opposing political parties will put aside politics and cooperate with each other for the benefit of the voters, and, if you also agree that electionsevery two years for Congress members are needlessly expensive and time-consuming, then go to the polls and vote for cooperation and common sense.....right?
I bet she wants us to vote for Buerkle because....you know....it's not about politics. It's about what she....er...we want, and it's about moving the town and country forward with people who think and vote just like me!

Do's and Don'ts
Oh September – with your trees a canopy of colors,
Starting to change like rainbow ribbons above my sun-kissed summer hair,
The cooler breezes a whisper in the air,
Calling to me like lost loved ones from long ago.
You seem familiar-and I embrace you like an old friend.
You like that? Is that positive enough for you? Is it sunny, happy shit that makes you giggle and say “wow, now we can move the town forward because she is being positive and not political”?

It's That Time Of Year Again
Campaign Finance/Disclosure Reports are out for the 32 Day Pre Primary, and the July Periodic.
Since we are all about not being political at Town Board meetings - it is IMPERATIVE that you review the disclosure reports to see who donated to what campaigns and if anyone on these reports go up to speak at Public Input - we can accuse them of being political. Correct? Ok then, on to the reports! :)

Everything Is Political
Town Board Meeting.....
I'm sorry - but are you f$#%!@* kidding me with that whole "You're being political" junk at public input? Is she going to do that to every speaker she disagrees with or doesn't like? Since they are all basically politicians sitting on that board, and every speaker from January 1st to December 31st of that year could be political in their public input.......are they only censured around election time? How come when they ran for public office, it was ok for them to coincidentally show up for public input around election time and "be political" in their comments? Why was it ok for John and Stephanie to go up at public input when they were running for Town Board? When Mary Ellen Jones mentions that she was a Senator, or a proud Democrat.....isn't that political? That was allowed.
How come the cross endorsement comments from June/July meetings weren't "censured"?
Aldersley and Perticone showing up for Public Input around election time - Aldersley introduced as a Legislator and Perticone lobbying for using local labor for Walgreens (a private development)......wasn't that political? Is it a coincidence that all current Town Board members never really spoke at public input that much - but around August (if there is a primary) and October (just before November elections) - the candidates are alllllll about giving their public input at that time. Uncanny.
October 2005 and also in 2007.
