Master Plans & Stuff

The TB Agenda was up for about a week, and then a couple of resolutions were added at the bottom recently - just before they cancelled the TB meeting for the 16th - that meeting is now re-scheduled for Tuesday the 23rd.

The Resolutions are for the Master Plan:
Human Resources
8A2011-10 Adopt a Resolution Calling for a Public hearing on the Matter of the Update for the Town Comprehensive Plan

8A2011-11 Adopt a Resolution in the Matter of Lead Agency with Respect to SEQRA for the Master Plan

Birth & Rebirth

All I can say is "FINALLY" - this idea was talked about long ago, and it's nice to see someone finally stepping up to give birth to this idea. A "rebirth" of this area of Irondequoit was wanted by many and necessary in my opinion. I like the idea. I really do.

The "someone stepping up" is a local person - Mike Nolan. The idea is to create a "Town Square" in the Cooper/Titus area. Existing businesses will not be pushed out. The H.O.G. would stay as is. A gathering place for the community - and a walkable area for shopping and leisurely strolling.

The best part about it, in my opinion, is that this is a local idea, a local person proposing it - not some out of state millionaire who could give a rip about community, or a developer out to make a quick buck at the expense of the community.

Good luck and I certainly hope it comes to fruition! How exciting! I hope he gets the financing and the support he needs.

Here are some screenshots/links to the stories about this, and a Facebook page called I-square about the project.

Very Nice, Library Peeps

A couple of blogs ago, I had posted a pdf. of a letter that Mr. Golan had sent to the Library about viewing contracts/negotiations.

Well, in the spirit of blatant transparency and honesty - the fine folks of the Library sent over the following documents detailing their CBA for 2008 - 2010 which shows they did receive 3% increases in wages in previous years, and the 2011 MOA (no date on this except that it's based on a 12/08/10 negotiation session), that shows they agreed to receive a 0% increase in wages for this year's contract.........
