Notice there was no mention of the Special Meeting that the Town Board had on 2/3/2009 to approve the Final Environmental Impact Statement. All the Town has to do is post a notice at Town Hall to "let you know" that there will be a meeting.
So, my Irondequoit Senior Friends, you will have to drive to Town Hall every day and look at the notices posted to learn of what meetings will be going on in your Town, in order to comment on them. You could e-mail them too, but you'll only get an e-mail back saying to call them or set up an appointment to meet with them personally.
That is your open Government for you.
"We're moving forward, as we've said we would,"
Yes, with or without your comments.
In the article from the D&C:
"PILOT agreement details have not been finalized, Heyman said, adding, "there's one little glitch" that must be worked out. She would not elaborate but said town officials have met jointly with East Irondequoit school officials about the terms."
She would not elaborate.
There's more of that wonderful Open Government!
"Project spokesman John Caruso of Passero Associates said deals have been reached with some upscale restaurant firms, including a steakhouse and "the No. 2 seafood chain" in the country. He would not elaborate."
He would not elaborate.
Oh, I am just giddy with excitement over this project, because I know nothing about it! I know no details of the PILOT, no idea on what retail is planned for this development, no clue if the condo residents will enjoy PILOT tax breaks........nothing.
But, don't worry......"We're moving forward, as we've said we would,"
Oh phew! For a minute there I was worried I didn't have all the information on what you guys were going to do with my tax money.
Silly me.
