PB Meeting 11/23

There was the approval of the draft FEIS for 500 Newport Rd. With a couple of edits, it will become the FEIS. Unfortunately, any of the links to the DEIS (draft environmental impact statement) on the Town's website is gone now - any of the links just go to the Costich website. Hopefully, the FEIS will take it's place at some point.

Here is the link to the PB meeting (from the pledge to the end) for November 23, 2009.

A gentleman had stated that the meeting wasn't valid because

of the way he was notified of the time change.....but.....the Town did what they are required to do by putting the time change notice on the signboard. That's the least they had to do, and that's what they did. Instead of an explanation from the chairman, he was basically dismissed with a "thank you. noted." and told "onward and upward", by Mr. Hintenach.

The meeting itself was pretty routine, but before the meeting even started, residents got a taste of exactly how respected they are.

The meeting was supposed to start at 5:30 pm. It was rescheduled from the original time of 7pm.

One of the board members did not make it to the meeting until after 6pm. (Can't have a quorum without the other board member present, so they had to wait.)

Some people were complaining of the wait, and wondered why it was rescheduled to 5:30 pm in the first place.

Instead of apologizing for the long wait, Chairman Hintenach says:

"How's that? You guys can all go home", as he gestures with his hand towards the door, "Instead of sitting there bitching about me."

Don't believe me?

See for yourself.

(About 12 seconds into the video, the camera goes back on with the audio and captures the remark perfectly.)

I'm very surprised that Mr. Hintenach responded the way he did. I'm very disappointed too.

I'm sure he doesn't care, as evidenced by his treatment of residents at the meeting, but I think an apology is in order for his remarks.

I wish you could make an appointment with the Supervisor to discuss this treatment of residents.....but the Supervisor isn't taking appointments anymore. If you go to Town Hall and ask why, you will be told by her assistant that "I don't have to take this."

That's what happened to one resident today. When that resident inquired to the town to make an appointment with the Supervisor, the resident was told that the supervisor is not taking appointments.

The resident went to Town Hall today to speak with Heyman because they wouldn't give them an appointment. Heyman wasn't at town hall.

The resident asked:"Is the Supervisor still on the payroll?"

AJ Mazzenga said: "oh yes."

Resident asked: "So why can't I have an appointment?"

AJ Mazzenga answered: "She isn't doing any appts. Mary Joyce is taking over the appointments."

Resident: "But Mary Joyce isn't getting paid until January. The Supervisor said that every voice needs to be recognized and I need to talk to her."

AJ Mazzenga answers: "OK, I've had enough of this, I don't have to take this anymore" and he got up from his desk and walked to another computer in his office and then walked back to his desk and started looking at some papers he had tacked to his wall.

"Don't have to take" what? Questions? Appointments?

Good thing the community only has to take this crap another month and a half.

Good riddance!
