A lot of "good stuff" in today's I-Post. A Q&A featuring each candidate responding in 100 words or less, a sampling of their ideas, and comments on issues facing the town.
Unfortunately, Deborah Essley's comments seem to have been edited even though

Fee Foil Fo' Medley
A while ago, I put up a FOI about the attorney and engineering fees associated with the Medley Centre from 2007 to present.
Apparently, there were no documents to show fees

Day 41 On Fees Related To Medley Foil
I don't know, and I have no explanation for, why it would take 41 days to provide some sort of time frame for when this FOI request would be ready - as within the FOI laws. I also don't know why

Latest FOI stuff
This is a response to an FOI request for the amount paid for the Pinegrove Financial Evaluation from Tim Poley.

This was an evaluation that was done within the first few months of MEH and two board members being elected. An evaluation that states there is 1.9 acres at Pinegrove, and is an analysis that "is presented for the purposes of finding a mutually agreeable purchase price for the sale of the Pinegrove Senior Center by the Town Of Irondequoit, New York to the West Irondequoit Central School District."
Sinister me wonders why MEH told everyone on the Voter Mailer that "the Town has no plans to sell the Pinegrove building."
Was that a clerical error?
Sinister me also wonders why a couple of board members and the Supervisor led everyone to believe that the Town only owns a few feet around the Pinegrove building and couldn't be expanded?
Was that a clerical error too?

Those darned clerical errors!
Here is an invoice paid to Blue Horizon Strategies for preparation and discussion regarding Medley Centre PILOT terms.

Now This Is Odd........
Remember the blog I did a bit back about "Mr. Fakity-Fake-Fake" who wrote a letter to the Irondequot Post, and in that letter "Mathew Lewis" said that "but all the town leaders I wrote to, responded to me."?
A FOI request was submitted for those "responses", and an answer has been given, in record time I might add (9 days!),about that particular FOI request.
Here it is, in all it's glory:

Gee, if Mathew Lewis is a real person, and has a real address on Norton Street, and said he wrote to the town....there should be a record of that.
No such records exist.......
And, neither does Mathew Lewis on Norton Street in Irondequoit. We've e-mailed him, but he never seems to return our e-mails with a quote or explanation that I could show.
Here is the extent of what we have from/to Mr. Fakity-Fake-Fake.

But.......Mark Scuderi exists. We've e-mailed him too, and he got back to us right away (probably because he has nothing to hide, and is a real person. That always helps.)
This is what Mr. Scuderi has to say about it:

Town Attorney Takes On FOI Requests.......
Wayyyyyyyy back on February 11th, I did a blog about a FOI request regarding e-mails between Tim Poley and the Supervisor and Town Board. It was stated on a couple of invoices that there were e-mail exchanges concerning Kings Park. You can read all of the FOI information (from January) by clicking here. (Please notice that on the documents that are labeled "Purchase Order & Claim Voucher" - "temporary" is xxx'd out. The Senior Center wasn't going to be a "temporary" move.)
The two invoices that mention e-mails are below:

A FOI request was sent in for the e-mails. It was denied because there "are no e-mails from Tim Poley for the time requested."

The resident asked that the Supervisor sign off on this, because the invoice states that there were e-mails, but the denial states that there are no e-mails from Tim Poley.
Apparently, the Town Attorney feels it is necessary to "cover" for the Supervisor, and is taking the blame for not getting back to the resident sooner, and questions why the need for a "sign off" on this denial. It's a pretty simple FOI request. There are invoices. On those invoices are stated general e-mail between Tim Poley and the Supervisor and Town Board. Those are the e-mails that are being foiled.
That is the "scope". Two invoices stating e-mails, those e-mails are being requested. I'm sure if it were three invoices, it would be a hat-trick, and much easier to find them.....right, Mr. Malgieri?
Here are the e-mails on this simple subject. (Guess sunshine week is over?)

Thank You Note = Letter Of Disclosure?
Towards the end of January, I did a blog about a Letter Of Disclosure that the Supervisor was supposed to share with the Planning Board at their following meeting, which would have been June 23rd, 2008, according to this article.

Keep in mind that this article was June 19th, 2008, and the Supervisor was quoted as of June 10th in this article. But, the contents of the "letter of disclosure" were not immediately available at that time.
According to the Supervisor, this letter was to be disclosed at the following PB meeting, but nobody has seen this letter, so a resident had submitted a FOI request.
Here are the e-mails and the actual "Letter Of Disclosure".

This resident seems to be upset about something. I wonder what it is?

Oh.
I don't think I need to add any commentary to this one. Pretty obvious.
Notice the date of the Thank You Note/Letter Of Disclosure is June 9th, 2008.

More Freedom of No Information......
Back in December, there was a FOI request for documents pertaining to Tim Poley and King's Park. You can read that here.
This was the Purchase Orders and Invoices of money paid to Tim Poley, and where the word "temporary" was X'd out with regards to the Senior Center move to King's Park.
It was also stated in a couple of Invoices, that there were e-mails between Tim Poley and the Supervisor and/or Town Board member(s). This information was also requested in a separate foil......and then denied because "no e-mails from Tim Poley for the time period requested."
Impossible.
Here are the Invoices that state that correspondence did include e-mail.

More Non Disclosure......
We should be used to this by now.
Here is the Senior Center page on the town website. Here is a link to the page on the Town Website.

I thought elected Town officials weren't supposed to use a tax payer subsidized town website to positively push their agenda? This sure looks like it.
Here is a recent resident's e-mail:

Here is the "FACTS SHEET" the resident refers to:

Shameless self promotion of their agenda.
By the way, the Supervisor mentions Greece leasing until they built a permanent facility on the Town Campus. Guess what? It's a two story building. They use this new invention called an elevator to get the seniors up to and down from the 2nd level. Technology is amazing. I mention this, because, in the "Facts Sheet" it is mentioned that "• A two story building – the only option to expand square footage – is not suitable for many seniors." Why not? If you use the "elevator" option, it becomes suitable.
Also, this "Facts Sheet" might appear in "Images". The Images is a magazine that comes from Town Hall-paid for by Irondequoit taxpayers-pushing her agenda.
If you look at the link to the pdf of the Facts Sheet (www.irondequoit.org/images/SupervisorColumns/senctrfacts.pdf), it says "images" and "Supervisor's Column" and "snctrfacts". Here's the hyperlink.
Do you really want your tax money funding her agenda through the town magazine?
The Supervisor's response:

So, she offers again and again that any resident at any time with any questions can feel free to e-mail her office. When you do, you don't get answers, and you are now directed to call her or meet with her personally.
I'm guessing the Town and the Supervisor don't want her public e-mails made public. You can FOI request e-mails from Town Government.
So now, she wants you to call or meet with her personally.
Wow. I cannot believe that elected officials would treat the taxpayers like this.
I am truly amazed at the lengths they will go to keep information from the public.
