Special TB Meeting 12-03-09 @ 5 PM....(MEETING LOCATION CHANGED)

......in a courtroom at the Public Safety Building, instead of the Broderick Room at Town Hall, due to a scheduling conflict, according to the D&C article.

Since it's at the PS building, maybe someone can check and see about those heat pumps that were supposed to be installed there when they bonded money for it?

Where Your School Taxes Go

Two videos about the school district spending over a quarter of a million dollars on a compost pile.......that will release methane when decomposing. :)

Gastraction

Enough with the methane already. Every home has methane present, usually at levels that are in no danger of spontaneously combusting and blowing you and your house to smithereens.

The only reason this is an issue is because the developer wants to build there and

PB Meeting 11/23

There was the approval of the draft FEIS for 500 Newport Rd. With a couple of edits, it will become the FEIS. Unfortunately, any of the links to the DEIS (draft environmental impact statement) on the Town's website is gone now - any of the links just go to the Costich website. Hopefully, the FEIS will take it's place at some point.

Here is the link to the PB meeting (from the pledge to the end) for November 23, 2009.

A gentleman had stated that the meeting wasn't valid because

Lifting The Cloak Of Secrecy

From Public Employee Contracts:

Oh, Irondequoit had done a blog about a comment in the D&C article, which brings up the points about open meetings, taxpayer involvement, and negotiations with public employee contracts.

Continued....

FYI - Planning Board Meeting - Newport Rd.

The Planning Board Meeting for Monday, November 23rd, has been rescheduled to start at 5:30pm instead of 7pm. Review of the Draft FEIS for Newport Rd. is on the agenda.

You can view all of the documents pertaining to the Newport Project, and specifically the multitudes of pages within the DEIS, on the Town Website.

Article In I-Post & Medley

I didn't see this in the online version of MPNnow - I only saw it in the paper - Irondequoit Post. So, just in case some of you don't get the paper - here is the article:

Here's the Medley article from the D&C:

Budget Workshops

It seems that tomorrow's workshop is canceled.

After all of that input at the Public Hearing, don't you think a workshop would be a good thing to do?

Will it be rescheduled?

I went to go take a look at the agenda for next week's TB meeting, but the agenda from last month is still up there.

Maybe we'll find out next week about the budget workshop meeting?

Veterans Day

THANK YOU!

Grants Action News

NYS Assembly website has a great link to grants news. There is an archive going back to 2006 for grants offered at the private, state, and federal level.

For instance, back in August,

Auto-Tune The News

I was over at Oh, Irondequoit's blog and was watching the videos about the clicking language spoken by the people of southern and parts of eastern Africa. Very interesting, and I have seen programs on this before. I also saw a show once that showed a blind young man who would use these clicking sounds to navigate his way around his community. I guess it was like an "echo" or something that would - just by the sound - tell him if anything was in his way. Pretty neat.

I thought I'd be a copy-cat,

Unofficial Results

Link to Monroe County Board Of Elections Website. Click on "Unofficial 2009 General Election Results" and it will take you to another page which shows the party breakdown of votes.

There are 13,251 registered Democrats, and 11,003 registered Republicans in Irondequoit.

The number of people who even bothered to come out and vote - as was the case in the primary - dismal. I find that so completely pathetic, that it makes me angry. Grrrr.

Anyways, here are the breakdowns.

“To me, it really says the negative people in Irondequoit — the Bob Aments and Cheri Eversheds — won and that’s really sad for the future of the town,” Jones said, referring to the outspoken residents.

Look Over There, Not Over Here

In a classic case of "not relevant", Joe Morelle and the Irondequoit Democratic Committee (David Seeley - that is his address in the top left corner) have made the decision to distract you, the Irondequoit voter, from the issues in Irondequoit to the issues in other towns and the county via one of their mailers that list a common theme.

Radio Ad & Mailers

I heard a radio ad over the weekend on Jazz 90.1 for Stacey Romeo, candidate for Irondequoit Town Justice.
