Dangerous Precedents

The Town Board meeting on Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 - during the Public Input portion at the beginning of the meeting - Barone went up to speak, finished his input, then the board called Tamara D., but she wanted to speak about the MP at the Public Hearing. Then the board calls "David Allen" - and Barone says that he is there to read a letter from David Allen because Mr. Allen could not attend the meeting.

MJD says "I don't think you can do that, sir."

Do's and Don'ts

Oh September – with your trees a canopy of colors,
Starting to change like rainbow ribbons above my sun-kissed summer hair,
The cooler breezes a whisper in the air,
Calling to me like lost loved ones from long ago.
You seem familiar-and I embrace you like an old friend.

You like that? Is that positive enough for you? Is it sunny, happy shit that makes you giggle and say “wow, now we can move the town forward because she is being positive and not political”?

Comedy or Tragedy?

I'm thinking a little of both.

A "Reality Show" couldn't write a script any better than this. It has bumbling clowns, a "shady" non-licensed private I, connected political players, appointed and elected officials, and a police report to back it all up. Incredibly entertaining.

Newsworthy? Absolutely. As much as Robutrad was - and that was on the front page of the D&C for months. Mention some shenanigans with CDR working their magic against the County Executive and her Administration, which includes names of people connected to the current Mayor who is running for Lt. Governor.....and this gets a few hours on the main page only to be buried in the archives late that night.

Funny how that all works.

Walking The Walk

I don't know if you've noticed, but I complain a lot on here. I do...I know this, and I accept it. I don't know if everyone else is as accepting. :) But...ya know what? They may have a point in being "less receptive" to my complaining if I don't offer some type of solution, or alternative.

I know I have made some suggestions in the past, or I've said to just "do away" with some things to save some money and help municipalities run more efficiently. I don't always focus on the solutions (sometimes I do), and instead only point out the problems (a majority of the time).

Q&A

Here are some questions that I have been asked in the past month.

Q: Is the ice skating rink going to be built?

A: No, not this year apparently. Camp Eastman land was not level enough to facilitate the ice rinks. I do not know if it's going to happen next year either.
3/3/10 MPN article on ice rink.

Q: Was Marty Piecuch fired?

Blast From The Past......

Remember, back in March, I did a blog about a page that was found in the copier at Town Hall? This one.

I finally got a hold of the rest of the pages,

Lonsberry on Medley.......

Bob Lonsberry had written a blog on January 7th with his opinion on the Medley Centre Project. Make sure to read some of the comments following the blog.

" And at a time when New York is collapsing financially, when every single penny of tax money is precious, how can anybody possibly put this place on rich-people welfare? “Development money” is nothing but welfare for fat cats.

And we're tired of that.

If this project is such a great idea, if it is such a sure-fire hit, then let it pay for itself. Let it go forward without a taxpayer subsidy. Let it borrow the money it needs from banks, instead of from the taxpayers, and let it pay its share of property tax just like everybody else."

Boo yah, Bob!

Medley discussed on WCMF

Mo from WCMF gives his opinion on why the Town doesn't care about it's citizens.

After the "deer story" from Racin' Randy, Mo gives his opinion, and a caller to the show named "Sam" who is a property owner in Irondequoit gives his opinion.

I guess Mo and Sam don't want the Supervisor to be successful either? lol
